президентские выборы в этой стране происходят на primaries... когда дело доходит до выбора между кандидатом от банкиров (D) и кандидатом от банкиров (R) - выбирать уже поздно.

я этих выборов видел достаточно...

по крайней мере, на последних президентских выборах в кандидатах на primaries был один достойный человек, хотя, понятно, хомяки его выбрать никак не могли. им по ящику не велели. потому как голосовать против войнушек, всеобщей слежки и раздачи триллионов банкирам может только сумасшедший и расист. а уж если кто вдруг начинает говорить о том, что правительству неплохо было бы соблюдать Конституцию - так он точно опасный экстремист и его сторонников нужно вязать.

Just checking if you paid attention... or simply watched the propaganda.

There was a presidential candidate in 2008 who was in Congress for 20 years and has an unimpeachable anti-war record, as well as solid grasp of economics (he predicted both the real estate crisis and the banking crisis... and was right about many other things, in retrospect). He's also a doctor, and has a reputation for personal integrity. He lost the primaries but ended up starting the new political movement which currently remains the only active anti-war political force in US.

Of course, he was smeared as a racist and crazy by the mass media (both left and right), and routinely excluded from debates and given access to much less air time than his opponents. Which didn't prevent him from taking down that fascist from NY, Guiliani and seriously damaging Hunter ("We have lost over 5,000 Americans killed in Afghanistan & Iraq, plus the civilians killed. How many more you want to lose? How long are you going to be there? What do we have to pay to save face? That’s all we’re doing, is saving face. It’s time we came home.")

Not that I think he's right in trying to reform the Beast from within... but at least I can respect his goals.
