m_elle1. Make sure the condom is latex or polyurethane.
2. Check the expiration date and make sure the package still "pillows" (puffs up when you gently squeeze it before it is open)
3. Open the package, being careful not to tear the condom. Squeeze a few drops of lubricant (1/2 teaspoon) into the tip of the condom.
4. Put the condom on when the penis is erect and before any contact between the penis and the partner genitals, mouth, or anus.
5. Hold the condom by the last 1/2 inch at the tip, making sure to squeeze out the air.
6. Put the condom on the tip of the penis. For a man who is not circumcised, pull back the foreskin before putting on the condom.
7. Unroll the condom all the way to the base of the penis. Smooth out any extra air. Apply lubricant on the outside of the condom.
8. Check during intercourse to make sure the condom is not slipping.
9. Withdraw (pull out the penis) slowly after climax (ejaculation). Hold the condom firmly by the rim at the base. Withdraw while penis is still erect.
10. Remove the condom by rolling it off. Do this well away from partner's body. Tie off the end of the condom to prevent spilling the contents. Dry the penis carefully before going near partner again.
11. Discard the condom. Wrap it in tissue and throw it away. DO NOT FLUSH condoms down the toilet. They can clog plumbing. Dispose of it in a trash can where pets can't get to it.
12. NEVER RE-USE a condom. To have sex again, ALWAYS use a NEW condom.
