Human nature, nothing more to see here.

- http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/09/size-matters-so-do-lies.html

The politically charged issue of crowd size is complicated by the fact that there is no official estimate -- not from the Park Service, not from the D.C. Police, nor the Fire Department, etc. (http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/09/freedomworks-cuts-estimate-for-crowd-at-its-912-rally-by-one-half.php?ref=fpa)

As if the "official" estimate is supposed to be somehow more credible than anything coming from somebody who doesn't get paid by the government...

He comes from radical Marxist camp; in practice, he is a strong supporter of crony capitalism (aka "corporatism", aka "fascism" in the original sense of this word). That, understandably, upsets more people (and proves that not all Americans are brainwashed and/or easily manipulated by media).

This is a lie. Unless you can give any proof (from his own words or acts, not from the republican slander on him).

His support of TARP and ACRA alone are sufficient to prove this claim beyond any reasonable doubt. Both of these giant redistribution schemes are corporatist, effectively socializing losses while privatising gains.

BTW, the republicans are just as bad in this respect. The only reason why they are being more truthful today is because they are in opposition and so have to gain from criticising the party in power. When republicans are in power, they do exactly the same things. In fact, there are no two large political parties in US - these are the two facades of the same corporatist establishment, pretending to fight tooth and nail, while, in practice, being indistinguishable. (To prove this point - is there any Bush's policy which Obama didn't continue or even expand?)

Well, being a supporter of large corporations and being a radical Marxist are sort of opposite things, aren't they?

And what is "ACRA" you are referring to? Google gives various results, but none of them seems to fit.

Community Reinvestment Act.

Marxism is against coropratism only on surface... but, in reality, all marxists support stronger and intrusive state in order to advance their agendas - which inevitably gives real power to politically-connected elite (which then proceeds to use the power to increase their personal wealth).

International socialism and national socialism aren't really opposites.

Corporatism is not only corporations, it requires merging of corporations and state - with both state overtly controlling corporations (via regulations and financial interventionism) and corporations covertly controlling state, by the virtue of having resources and motivation to engage in political activities.

The ultimate stage of corporatism is turning the entire country in one huge monopolistic corporation - by prohibiting all potential competitors the right to own or use means of production.

Got your point, thank you. Not intending to advance the discussion, I would yet note, that "having things in common" and "being the same thing" are slightly different notions, aren't they? More than that, in order to be opposites, two things (or ideas) must have a common platform.
